Vermont Independent Media, Inc. publishes The Commons and runs the Media Mentoring Project. The newspaper is
dedicated to in-depth coverage of local issues and events in Windham
County, to analysis of other news from a local perspective, and to
providing a forum for communication across the wide social, economic
and political spectrum of our population.
Donate $50, $100 or more to help VIM meet its immediate and long
term needs. Your gift will help bring The Commons closer to twice
a month publication and ensure VIM continues to play an important
part in the growth of local independent media in Windham County.
When you give to VIM
You support the in-depth journalism found in The Commons, the newspaper
with news that is local, relevant and fearless.
You also support the free journalism training workshops of the Media
Mentoring Project (MMP). These are held monthly in Brattleboro and
Bellows Falls. The MMP also works with neighborhood and youth groups
to encourage the next generation's interest in community journalism.
VIM relies on the good will and financial support of the people
of Windham County. Thanks to the generosity and encouragement of
VIM's early and current finders, The Commons began monthly publication
in January 2006 and is now a valuable part of the local media landscape.
Please call 802-246-6397 if you have questions and somone from VIM's
development committee will respond.
