SAXTONS RIVER — I'd like to thank Kali Quinn for her exceptional performance in Overture to a Thursday Morning, a one-act original play she created. Kali chose to donate the profits of one performance at the Sandglass Theater in Putney to our small, grassroots organization, Making the Most of I (MMI).
The storyline of the play flows into the lives of women, their connection, their mysteries, and their discoveries. The story parallels the work we do as women in our free, 14-week course.
It was a beautiful and strong play that touched the hearts of the audience. Each performance was followed by a discussion between Kali and audience members.
I'd also like to deeply thank Rupa Cousins and Jerry Levy for producing the benefit and play. Rupa, a board member of MMI, has shown her commitment to the program and organization in many ways. She and Jerry are dedicated and giving community members. In fact, Jerry has offered to perform in his monumental play, Marx in SoHo, in the near future. His performance will take place in Bellows Falls, and will also benefit MMI.
And a thank-you goes out to Eric and Ines Bass for donating the space to us for that one day's performance.
I wish to thank the other members of my board of directors, who always support our program in many ways. Thank you to the audience who came in from the glorious sunshine that day to see the play and support us.
