Summer reading program begins at Brooks Memorial Library

BRATTLEBORO — Join the Brooks Memorial Library for One World, Many Stories, this year's Summer Reading Program.

All children, including children who are read to, are invited to participate. Each participant will receive a reading record, a book bag and a bookmark at registration. Registration runs from Monday, June 13 through Saturday, June 25 in the Children's Room.

One World, Many Stories was developed by the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP), a grassroots consortium of 48 states, and is sponsored locally by the Vermont Department of Libraries, Coldwell Banker Bellville Realty, Domino's Pizza, the Friends of Brooks Memorial Library, and the Children's Room.

Also, Brooks Memorial Library offers You Are Here, the Young Adult Summer Reading Program from June 25 to Aug. 6. Teens between 13-19 are invited to come in and register for the Young Adult Reading Program, and read throughout the summer.

Register for this program at the first floor circulation desk, and receive a book bag, bookmark, and reading log. The reading log will remain with the teen until the program ends on Aug. 6. At the end of six weeks, return your reading log to the Main Circulation Desk with the hours that you have read this summer. Your name will then be entered for a prize if you have read for at least two hours each week.

Registration for the Young Adult Reading Program begins on Saturday, June 18, and runs through July 2. Get your reading material in Brooks' Young Adult book section on the Main Floor. For more infromation, contact the library at 802-254-5290, ext. 0.
