Council on Aging changes name to Senior Solutions

The Council on Aging for Southeastern Vermont is changing  its name to Senior Solutions, and launching a new website on July 22.

Executive Director Joyce Lemire emphasizes that, though it's a new name, the staff and services are the same.

“For years,” she said, “we've wanted a name that gives a better sense of what we do, and is easy to find in the phone book. We're still in the same Springfield office, with the same phone number and the same well trained staff."

The new website, www.SeniorSolutionsVT.org, with its large-print option and streamlined content, is designed for easy use by seniors and anyone who cares about a senior. Those without Internet access may still call the Senior Helpline at 800-642-5119.

Serving people aged 60 and up, as well as their caregivers, Senior Solutions aims to help people meet their challenges and live the best life they possibly can. The Board of Directors worked with Woodwardesign of Guilford over several months to craft a name, logo, and web site reflecting this positive, helpful theme.

Senior Solutions is a nonprofit organization, and welcomes tax-deductible donations. One of Vermont's five Area Agencies on Aging, it serves Windham and Windsor Counties, plus the towns of Searsburg, Readsboro, Thetford and Winhall.

Residents outside of the Senior Solutions service area may find the Agency serving their area by visiting www.VermontSeniors.org, or calling the Senior Helpline.
