United Way announces online ‘Scavenger Hunt’

BRATTLEBORO — United Way of Windham County is holding an online “scavenger hunt” this month, with information on its website, www.unitedwaywindham.org, serving as clues to complete the challenge. All correct submissions will be entered into a drawing to win a free iPod touch, donated by Brown Computer Solutions.

The winner will be announced at United Way's annual Day of Caring volunteer service event on Sept. 3.

“Our organization is going through an exciting transformation,” said United Way of Windham County's Executive Director, Carmen Derby. “As we change up the way we invest our resources by moving to the Community Impact model, it's critical that the community understands and embraces this change,” she continued. “In creating this event, we wanted to give people a way to learn about Community Impact and have some fun while they are doing it.”

The questions for the scavenger hunt will all be based on information available on their website, but some answers will require a little digging to find. The scavenger hunt will officially close at the end of the day on August. A review team will identify all correct entries, and from those entries, the winner of an iPod touch will be selected

“It's a fun and generous gesture from Brown Computer Solutions to donate this iPod Touch. While we don't require the winner to be present at Day of Caring to claim the prize, we certainly encourage any and all volunteers to contribute their time at this event,” Derby said.

Anyone interested in becoming involved with the United Way, making a donation, or volunteering time, talent or resources is encouraged to call 802-257-4011, ext. 110, or visit www.unitedwaywindham.org.
