WOOL Radio hosts ‘MasqueRadioke’ contest

BELLOWS FALLS — Community radio station WOOL, 100.1 FM, Black Sheep Radio, will host MasqueRadioke, a Halloween Extravaganza karaoke competition on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 7 p.m. until midnight.

The only rule: You must be in costume to compete.

Prizes will be awarded for best performance and best costume, and a $200 first prize will be awarded for best singing.

The contest will take place live on the air, from 9 to 10 p.m. in front of a studio audience.

Would-be contestants should gather early at Black Sheep Radio headquarters at 33 Bridge St. to register for the competition by submitting song selections from the contest repertoire.

There will be no advance screening of the available songs until that time. Competition will be limited to 10 contestants.

Doors open at 7 p.m. with karaoke just for fun until 9 p.m., when the broadcast of the contest will begin.

A cash bar will be provided by Pleasant Valley Brewing. MasqueRadioke is open to all ages from 7-10 p.m., but only those 21 and older after 10 p.m.

Tickets for are $5 per person, whether singing or not, and all proceeds benefit the nonprofit, member-owned radio station.
