Flea market allows volunteers to raise more than $1,500 for Grace Cottage

TOWNSHEND — The staff, volunteers, and patients of Grace Cottage Hospital would like to thank Billy Morse, owner of the Original Newfane Flea Market on Route 30, which is open every Sunday from April to October.

Usually parking is free, but on the Sundays of holiday weekends, Billy allows a crew of Grace Cottage volunteers to collect donations from cars arriving at the flea market.

Each driver is asked for a voluntary donation of $1, which isn't a lot, but it really adds up. During four Sundays this year - those that fell on Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, and Columbus Day weekends - the volunteers collected $1,510.95. That's a big contribution towards the newly configured Imaging Suite at Grace Cottage Hospital!

Thank you, Billy, for allowing Grace Cottage Hospital this opportunity.
