Rusty ‘The Logger’ DeWees opens a busy weekend at Village Square Booksellers

BELLOWS FALLS — Comedian-actor Rusty DeWees will visit Village Square Booksellers in The Square on Thursday Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. to read from his new book of essays, Scrawlins Too, and to (possibly) sing a couple of tunes.

Best known for his role as “The Logger,” his one-man comedy show, DeWees grew up in Stowe and was active in theater throughout high school and college.

As a young adult, he performed with the award-winning Vermont Actors' Repertory Theatre before moving to New York City, where he trained at the George Loros Actors Theatre School and the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. He writes, acts, directs, and produces radio and television spots for companies throughout New England.

On Friday Nov. 18, Village Square Booksellers will have a Toy Sale during Bellows Falls 3rd Friday (BF3F) to celebrate owners Alan and Pat Fowler's 11th anniversary of the purchase of the bookstore.

The American Girl Club will meet on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 2 to 4 p.m., at Village Square Booksellers. Reading aloud, coloring, and crafts based upon American Girl dolls will all be part of the afternoon.

For ages 5 and up, the event is free but reservations are required for this event, call the store for details.
