NECCA to offer spring circus classes in Keene, Putney

BRATTLEBORO — The New England Center for Circus Arts is expanding its circus arts classes to Putney and Keene, N.H.

The Brattleboro-based circus school offers beginner through advanced instruction in many aerial and acrobatic arts. In an effort to make their programming more accessible, the school is opening youth and adult classes in Keene at the American School of Gymnastics and offering a kids class in Putney.

Students range in age from 18 months to their mid-80s. Circus school graduates tour with acclaimed companies such as Cirque du Soleil and Ringling Bros. Circus.

“Students progress at their own pace and comfort level while learning coordination, fitness and fun skills in an upbeat and exciting atmosphere,” writes Serenity Smith Forchion, who cofounded the school with her twin sister, Elsie Smith.

NECCA instructors teach their students in a safe and supportive environment designed to be accessible to all ages and all abilities.

To register for all the classes, including more than 40 weekly offerings in aerials, acrobatics, juggling, fitness and stretching, visit NECCA online at www.necenterforcircusarts.org or call 802-254-9780.
