BRATTLEBORO — Homeowners, landlords, business owners, and others looking for ways to cut rising energy bills are invited to a free workshop and vendor fair on heating with biomass.
The workshop will be held on Saturday, May 19, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Marlboro College Graduate Center, 28 Vernon St. The workshop will be followed at 1 p.m. by a tour of a “mini biomass district energy system” owned by Jason Cooper, a local property manager.
Workshop attendees will learn the advantages of installing a wood-burning stove, wood pellet furnace or boiler in their home, business, rental property, or other facility, and about the different types of systems that are available. Speakers will address issues of wood pellet production and financial incentives, and will provide case studies of heating with wood. Local vendors of wood-heating products and services will be on hand to answer questions.
