Windham Child Care Association holds second annual Fall Into Art benefit

BRATTLEBORO — Fall Into Art, the annual benefit of Windham Child Care Association (WCCA) which showcases artwork by the area's youngest artists alongside work by experienced adult artists, takes place on Friday, Oct. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the River Garden.

The event offers 100 works of art that have been donated and framed. Along with the art show, attendees will enjoy hors d'oeuvres, homemade desserts, local cider, door prizes and music by guitarist Draa Hobbs.

There are two ticket options: $10 to view the art gallery or $35 to bring a piece home.

All $35 ticketholders will receive a work of art. However, which one it is will be left to chance.

Upon arrival, attendees draw a number from a basket, then view the art gallery. Around 7 p.m., organizers will reveal the artworks' corresponding numbers.

All proceeds go toward supporting young children and families in our community.

Retirees to be honored

Also at Fall Into Art, WCCA will also present its award for Exemplary Service in Early Childhood Education to four recently retired educators: Sue Clarke, Cilda Dorner, Claire Nelson, and Carol Lynch.

“These four women have been providing care to our area's young children for a combined total of 145 years! It's incredible to imagine the number of families they've touched during their careers,” said Executive Director Elizabeth Raposa. “Their commitment to children and dedication to the profession is inspiring. We are honored to recognize their great work.”

Tickets are available online, or by calling 802-254-5332.
