‘Mommy bloggers’ come together for reading in Brattleboro

BRATTLEBORO — Raising kids is hard work. Everyone knows the pay stinks, your boss picks his nose, and the working conditions can be pitiful. There are times you can't even take a bathroom break without being interrupted with an outrageous demand. At one time or another, every mother has wailed, “I just want to pee alone!”

Kansas-based mom and founder of the popular blog “People I Want to Punch in the Throat,” known to readers only as Jen, gathered 36 other mom bloggers from across the country to share exactly why motherhood is the toughest - and funniest - job on the planet.

Finding humor in the daily struggles of motherhood, ”I Just Want to Pee Alone” is a compilation of essays guaranteed to make readers laugh, cry, wince, gasp and realize that they are not alone in the crazy world of motherhood.

On Saturday, May 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Whippersnappers, 642 Putney Rd., five of the co-authors, including Bethany Theis of Brattleboro, will sign copies and read from their new book, now an Amazon and iTunes best seller.

These women prove that working together can help make mothers everywhere feel less alone in their struggles, that showing the funnier side of parenthood is a great way to relieve the stress of a typically thankless job.
