Living Memorial Park pool now open
BRATTLEBORO - The Living Memorial Park Swimming Pool opened for the season on June 15. Season passes are still available at the swimming pool.
The regular rates for Brattleboro residents are $10 for toddlers, $25 for students, $35 for adults, and $65 for families. For non-residents, passes are $20 for toddlers, $40 for students, $50 for adults, and $90 for families. For more information, call the Recreation & Parks office at 802-254-5808.
Dairy Day at BF Farmers' Market
BELLOWS FALLS - Friday, June 21, will be Dairy Day at the Bellows Falls Farmers' Market. The farmers' market runs Fridays, from 4-7 p.m., at the Waypoint Center on Depot Street in Bellows Falls next to the train station.
Support your local dairy farmer and the market by joining in celebrating National Dairy Month. Kids can come and play with some dairy goat kids. Sample some cheese, milk, Walpole Creamery ice cream, and enjoy dairy-inspired crafts and music from the Milkhouse Heaters!

West Brattleboro Village Day is June 22
WEST BRATTLEBORO - On Saturday, June 22, the West Brattleboro Association (WBA) will host its third annual West Brattleboro Village Day, from noon to 4 p.m., on the Village Green in front of the fire house. (Rain date is a week later, June 29.)
The Village Day will feature a bouncy house, juggling acts, trapeze demonstrations by Circus Arts, and hula hoop demonstrations by Alotta Hoopla! The Brattleboro Fire Department will have a fire truck on display and the Sheriff's Department will be showing off their new rescue vehicle.
In addition, there will be a pie contest and 50-50 raffle. A display featuring the proposed new West Brattleboro sign(s) will be available as will a donation bucket, should you wish to help defray the cost.
Food including burgers, hot dogs, and other kid-friendly fare will be supplied by Café ala Cart which, during weekdays, is located next to Peter Havens on Elliot Street. The Jim Scott Duo will provide live music such as jazz, pop, and Dixieland. Badminton and bocce will be available for all to play on the green around the tent.
Marlboro Grad School offers free presentation slides workshop
BRATTLEBORO - “Simple Tricks for Stunning Presentation Slides” will be held at Marlboro College Graduate School on Vernon Street on Tuesday, June 25, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Want to avoid the “yawn” factor with your own slides? Learn how to use PowerPoint with the mindset of a graphic designer, and discover quick tricks for giving your slides impact. Come with a PowerPoint that needs some love, and walk away with a toolkit of ways to transform it into a truly useful and visually appealing representation of what you really want to convey.

Transition Dummerston hosts potluck, program on 'inner sustainability'
DUMMERSTON - Transition Dummerston's monthly potluck and program, “Hope Takes Root: Inner Sustainability” will be on Friday, June 28, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Dummerston Community Center on West Street.
This participatory evening will include conversation, activities and reflection for cultivating inner resources to face the current state of our planet, and sustain us in moving toward a positive future, both individually and collectively. The program is inspired by the ideas of Joanna Macy (Active Hope) and “Inner Transition” from “The Transition Handbook” by Rob Hopkins.

Friends of the Moore Free Library sponsors community tag sale
NEWFANE - There are still spaces available for the 11th annual Community Tag Sale, sponsored by the Friends of the Moore Free Library, to be held on the Newfane Common on Saturday, June 29, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Spaces cost $20 each. Sellers must provide their own tables. The sale will be held rain or shine, with no refunds given.

The Friends of the Moore Free Library raise funds to help support the functions and activities of the Library, a private institution that serves as a public library but without benefit of federal, state, or town money.
Free classes at Brattleboro Area Hospice
BRATTLEBORO - This July, Brattleboro Area Hospice will offer a free four-week class for those wishing to explore issues connected to death and dying.
Led by Bettina Berg and Ryan Murphy, staff members of Brattleboro Area Hospice, the curriculum will include material used in the training of hospice and bereavement volunteers who serve families in the community facing terminal illness and death. The class will provide opportunities to explore one's own attitudes and feelings about death and dying, as well as to learn about how one might support a friend or neighbor during a time of loss.
The class will meet on four Wednesday mornings: July 10, 17, 24, and 31, from 9:30 a.m. until noon, at BAH, 191 Canal St. Class size is limited and registration is required. For questions or to register, call Bettina Berg at Brattleboro Area Hospice at 802-257-0775, ext. 102.
Openings still available for Tour de Grace
TOWNSHEND –Grace Cottage Hospital's eighth Tour de Grace bicycle rally will be held on Saturday, July 13; riders start at Stratton Mountain anytime between 8 and 10 a.m., and ride at their own pace to Grace Cottage Hospital in Townshend.
Bus transportation is provided by Stratton to return riders and their bikes back uphill to the mountain. It's a scenic, mostly-downhill ride for family and friends, and the event also helps to raise money for patient care at Grace Cottage Hospital.
Volunteers will be stationed along the 19-mile route from Stratton Mountain to Grace Cottage Hospital to provide free beverages, snacks, and even musical entertainment. Free T-shirts will be given to the first 100 riders who sign up. Pre-registration cost is $25; $30 on the day of the event.
