‘Where’s Waldo’ promotion calls attention to BF merchants

BELLOWS FALLS — Where's Waldo? In Bellows Falls, of course.

The famously crowd-friendly children's book character in the striped shirt and black-rimmed specs is visiting 25 different local businesses throughout the community in July. Those who spot him can win prizes such as stickers and book coupons. Waldo figures will be cleverly concealed in local business establishments.

Anyone wishing to participate can pick up a “Find Waldo Local in Bellows Falls” passport at Village Square Booksellers at 32 The Square, with the names of all the participating sites, and get their passport signed for each Waldo they spot.

The first 100 Waldo seekers to get their passports stamped or signed at 15 or more sites can bring their passports back to Village Square Booksellers to collect prizes. Collecting store signatures at 20 or more businesses will qualify diligent seekers to enter a grand prize drawing on Aug. 3 during Rockingham Old Home Days, with the top prize being a six-volume deluxe set of Waldo books. Should anyone find all 25 signatures, they'll win a Where's Waldo miniature.

Participating businesses are: Village Square Booksellers, Halladays Florist, J & H Hardware, J & H Sporting Goods, Snow & Lear Office Supply, Valley Provisions, The Final Cut Video, Popolo, Vermont Pretzel, Greater Rock Fitness, Greater Falls Chamber of Commerce, Shona Grill, Miss Bellows Falls Diner, Lisais Market deli dept., Archbridge Books, Bellows Falls Opera House, People's Bank, Busy Bees, Coyote Moon, Windham Antiques Center, Rockingham Library, Athens Pizza, Dari Joy, The Rock & Hammer, and Scrapbook Nook.
