Brattleboro Film Festival chosen for Community Crowdfunder support

BRATTLEBORO — Mondo Mediaworks has named the Brattleboro Film Festival (BFF) its initial recipient of fundraising campaign support under its Community Crowdfunder program.

The Brattleboro-based digital marketing agency said it will provide free video production and marketing services to help BFF launch a Kickstarter fundraising campaign this fall.

In making its announcement, the company said it chose BFF because it “clearly benefits the southeastern Vermont community and the arts.”

BFF Vice President Lissa Weinmann said festival staff - all volunteers - and other supporters “are thrilled to receive Mondo Mediaworks' support as we seek sponsors and launch BFF's September Kickstarter campaign.

“BFF will bring two weeks of great films and events to Brattleboro that will enhance what is available in local theaters while helping expand the town's appeal as the vibrant cultural center it is,” Weinmann said.

Mondo Mediaworks launched its crowdfunder program, aimed at providing marketing services for a worthy fundraising project that benefits the southeastern Vermont community or the arts, in June. Applications were accepted through July 15.

Offered were a professionally produced video to use for a Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or similar crowdfunding campaign, a press release created and distributed to publicize a project, and marketing consultation to help the client meet its fundraising goal.

The company said in a press statement at the time that its employees created this project out of a desire to contribute to community development. They said they regularly received requests from individuals and fledgling organizations lacking the marketing budget for the video component that can be essential for a successful online crowdfunding appeal.
