Concert series benefiting Connecticut River postponed to spring 2014

SAXTONS RIVER — The Connecticut River Watershed Council's (CRWC) fall concert series with Robin and Linda Williams and their Fine Group has been postponed.

According to CRWC Executive Director Andrew Fisk, Robin Williams sustained broken ribs earlier this summer and needs surgery.

“Robin and Linda and their Fine Group are eager to reschedule with us, so the show will go on in spring 2014,” Fisk said.

The three concerts were scheduled for Sept. 20 to 22. To learn when the new dates are set, write [email protected] or call 413-772-2020, ext. 207.

Robin and Linda Williams' blend of bluegrass, folk, old-time and acoustic country music is a staple on NPR's “Prairie Home Companion,” at The Grand Ole Opry, and on “Austin City Limits.”

When the show does go on, Pat and Tex LaMountain, who led CRWC's popular “Living Along the River” concerts, will open for Robin and Linda.

The series is a benefit for CRWC's 17th annual Source to Sea Cleanup (www.ctriver.org/portfolio-items/source-to-sea-cleanup), which is still set for Oct. 4 and 5.
