Guilford Studio Holiday Sale returns this weekend

GUILFORD — The 14th annual Guilford Holiday Studio Sale runs Friday, Nov. 22, from 3 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 410 Green River Rd.

The Holiday Sale is an opportunity to mingle with friends and neighbors, enjoy free snacks, and start the holiday shopping season buying Guilford arts and crafts directly from their creators.

This year features five artists - all from Guilford - including two newcomers.

Carol Schnabel has been weaving for more than 35 years. This year she offers a selection of her chenille scarves and shawls, as well as Tencel scarves, cotton shawls and placemats, and braided baskets. New this year: gift items woven from recycled newspapers.

Lois Pancake is another resident of the Green River Road. She is a photographer whose work mainly features the local fauna and flora. She'll make photo cards and calendars and gift cards available.

Nancy Detra continues to document the joys and tribulations of the Vermont housewife on greeting cards and in small framed paintings.

Joining the sale this year are painter John Dimick and beadworker Vicki Houghton.
