Friends of the Brooks Memorial Library to hold holiday book sale

BRATTLEBORO — The Friends of Brooks Memorial Library invite you to their 8th Annual Holiday Book Sale in the Library on Friday, Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Gift-quality books and gently used fiction, non-fiction, children's books, and CDs are offered. Non-fiction titles include a world of art, cooking, gardening, history, music, and so much more.

Stop by the front desk any time beforehand and grab sale discount coupons.

A special collection of 400 music CDs, mainly jazz, is also on sale, and is in perfect condition.

Free gift wrapping is offered Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for items purchased at the sale and intended as gifts.

This book sale is one of the Friends' three annual book sales, the proceeds of which fund essential Library services: technology updates, Children's Room purchases, free museums passes for patrons, and digital/Internet acquisitions included.

This year the Friends are raffling off a custom hand-knit doll by local Newbery Medal-winning author Karen Hesse (www.scholastic.com/teachers/contributor/karen-hesse). Tickets are $1 each or $5 for six, and support Children's Room programs.

The Friends also are selling “The Book Lover's 2014 Page-A-Day Calendar,” a popular item and great gift option.
