Press’ censorship influences course of elections

PUTNEY — I'll run as a Republican primary candidate for governor and continue as an independent for the November election.

I presented an amendment to the House Government Operations Committee that would have compelled the hosts of debates and forums to permit candidates who behave with decorum to be permitted to equally participate.

As an independent who has shown up for every debate for two election cycles but has been silenced by censorship, I urge the reader to understand that money in politics begins with censorship of alternatives.

I point out that private hosts of “public” debates and forums through censorship of candidates exert undue influence over the outcome of elections by removing candidates from public consideration.

Their censorship exerts undue influence and alters the outcome of political races, specifically against state statute (offenses against the purity of elections) and the Vermont constitution.

The committee was interested in my amendment but cowered when the press threatened to sue for their freedom to censor.

In the rest of the miscellaneous election rules bill under consideration, they'll make it twice as hard for an alternative to organize as a major party.

As you might have heard, they passed legislation to permit unlimited amounts of money for parties (while severely limiting the independent). But through transparency we can watch!

I don't need to see how these corporate politicians schmooze, motivated by their personal financial goals. Why should politicians get richer serving an increasingly impoverished, taxed, and criminalized public while failing to stop corporate abuses?

I'm not Republican or Democrat; I am an independent with a winning policy that would benefit Vermont. I do believe that less government with greater involvement of regular people and removal of punitive approaches to lawmaking replaced with reward for best practice results in balanced outcomes.

So I feel okay about running as a Republican. With proper public monetary policy, I'll increase money for small business and education, and I'll decrease taxation. I'll promote policies that will increase personal freedom and challenge the status quo.

I call myself “De Udder Candidate for Governor” because I believe in bovines, and the bull stops here. I'm looking forward to this election.
