Brattleboro School of Dance class registration begins Sept. 5

BRATTLEBORO — Brattleboro School of Dance classes for the 2014-15 season begin Monday, Sept. 8. Register at school's website or visit the studio at 22 High St. the weekend of Sept. 5-7.

An open house is set for Friday, Sept. 5, from 5 to 8 p.m., at which dancers and their families can tour the studio and meet the faculty. Pizza and beverages will be available while they last.

Registration continues on Saturday, Sept. 6, from 1 to 6 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 7, from noon to 2 p.m.

Joining the ballet faculty this fall is Rachel Hebert, an alumna of Brattleboro School of Dance. She's also studied at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater School, Point Park University, and The Ailey School.

Carrie Towle is returning to the ballet faculty, as are Alison Mott (modern dance), Patricia Wilson (Dunham-style jazz), and Gershom Moore (hip-hop).

In addition to offering classes in a wide array of styles for adults and teens of all ability levels, the school is introducing a therapeutic dance class to dancers returning from injury and seeking a gentler way to explore ballet and modern dance and yoga techniques.

Visitors also will find fitness-related offerings such as Zumba and Jane LoMonaco's EmbodyYoga and pilates programs.
