RFPL presents Tour 350, a cross-country bike trip for climate change€™

BELLOWS FALLS — Rockingham Free Public Library presents “Tour 350: An American Journey in Words, Music, and Images,” on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m.

In 2010, Jesse Peters from Saxtons River resolved to raise awareness about climate change by mounting a solo, 4,000-mile cross-country bike ride.

Peters towed his supplies and guitar in a trailer behind his old mountain bike, riding from Salisbury Beach, Mass., to Placerville, Calif., over nearly three months, averaging 60 miles per day. Along the way he collected images, music, and words.

In the four years since, Peters has shaped that material into a body of work, “Tour 350,” which he is sharing with the community.

He says his songs, when heard alongside images he took and excerpts from his journal, “create a tapestry that evokes some of the feeling and sensations experienced during this arduous yet gratifying trip.”

This program is free. All are welcome.
