Friends of Brooks Memorial Library seeks book donations

BRATTLEBORO — Brooks Memorial Library is accepting donations of books to help stock this year's three Friends book sales fundraisers.

Bring donations - clean and in good condition - to the main circulation desk during library hours. Welcome are fiction and non-fiction titles in hardcover, softcover and mass-market paperback; CDs and DVDs; coffee table books, children's books, and rare, first-edition, and author-signed books.

The library cannot accept magazines, encyclopedias, Reader's Digest Condensed Books, out-of-date reference books, textbooks, outdated travel guides, computer books, romance paperbacks, LP records, cassette music tapes, and books targeted to small, select audiences.

Library staff will inspect donations before accepting them to assure quality. For more information, and if you plan to bring in a large donation, call 802-254-5290, ext. 106.

In addition to the Friends' April paperback sale, the June Strolling of the Heifers, and the December holiday book sales, there is an ongoing Friends sale shelf in the library. Each item, including books, puzzles, and VHS tapes, is $1. The selection changes frequently, so peruse often.

The Friends of the Library also sponsors a sales site at amzn.to/1oPs2KS, listing donations valued at $20 or more - and not likely to be sold at the book sales.
