Actors Theatre Playhouse seeks original scripts for eighth Ten Minute Play Festival

The Actors Theatre Playhouse of West Chesterfield, N.H., and Brattleboro is accepting Ten Minute Play submissions for its eighth seasonal Ten Minute Play Festival.

The Playhouse is celebrating its 39th season as the oldest continuous performing arts group in the tri-state regions of Southeastern Vermont, Southwestern New Hampshire, and Central Massachusetts.

For the last 29 years, they have been in residence at the Citizens Hall in West Chesterfield, offering a wide range of classical and contemporary productions, staged readings, workshops, and Ten Minute Play festivals.

They are currently seeking 10-minute plays from the New England region only. Submit a maximum of only two manuscripts. Scripts already produced elsewhere are acceptable. All scripts will be accepted thru email only at [email protected].

The deadline for entry of a manuscript is April 30. Upon receipt, a return email will confirm the scripts. Six to eight winners will be announced to all participants in July 2015.

For their purposes, all submissions should play in one scene, have minimal scenic requirements, not exceed 10-to-12 pages in length and have two to six characters.

The winners will receive production of their play as part of ATP's next Ten-Minute Play Festival and multiple tickets should the authors be able to attend.

The goal of the festival is both to encourage the production of new works from regional writers while exposing actors and directors to the techniques and practices of working with playwrights and producing new plays.
