These three women deserve your vote in Newfane

WILLIAMSVILLE — Voters of Newfane should welcome the coming election, which comes after years of strife in our local government. This year, we will be able to choose from a fine slate of candidates.

First, let me say that Gloria Cristelli deserves to be re-elected as town clerk, not only for the excellent work she's been doing for our town, but because she will now will be able to perform her duties free from harassment.

We have three women running for the Selectboard who have not served before but who possess excellent credentials and a well-founded vision for Newfane. They definitely deserve your vote.

Marion Dowling was a teacher and staff developer in New York before moving to Newfane full time in 2007. She is also a real-estate broker who has run her own company and has years of experience in conflict resolution. She volunteers at Holton Home and is a member of the Newfane Garden Club.

Rosalind Fritz, a 24-year Newfane resident, is a structural consultant who teaches this approach to businesses and personal coaches. She is an avid gardener and member of the Newfane Garden Club. Her approach to the role of Selectboard is one of “working together to do the best we can so that Newfane can reach its highest potential.”

Carol Hatcher has lived in Newfane for 17 years, prior to which she was a community-college counselor in California. She has owned a small business and directed an adult-learning center; she has worked as a buyer for the Brattleboro Food Co-Op and has served on its board.

I urge you to vote for these highly qualified women on March 3!
