BFUHS Drama Club presents Peter Pan

WESTMINSTER — Peter Pan will be flying through the Bellows Falls Union High School on March 27and 28, with shows at 7 p.m. on both nights and a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday. General admission for all shows is $5.

Directed by Katy Emond, with musical director Nicholas Pelton, and choreographer and flight director Matthew Burke, the show is expected to feature theatrical flight.

With the assistance of Flying by FOY, a company that specializes in theatrical flight, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell, played by Nieva Schemm and Molly Howe, will fly through the stage and theater.

The extensive cast also includes Mrs. Darling, played by Antonia Dufort and Sophia Cardini; Captain Hook, played by Gus Slater-Dixion; Wendy Darling, played by Alexis Larsen; John Darling, played by Simon Bupp; Michael Darling, played by Maya Sbardeliati; Mr. Darling, played by Eric Warden; and Nana, played by Ira Richardson; The Tic Toc Clock and Liza, played by Faith Byfield; and Jane, played by Maggie Parker.

Additional cast members include Lost boys, played by Ellie Guyon, Anny Brown, Mikayla Weinzierl, Dakoda Carter, Emily Roll, Alyssa Szuch, Grace Wilkinson, Maya Waryas, Lia Clark, and Ava LaRoss; Pirates, played by Jackson Purdy, Ira Richardson, Alden Parmalee, Trinna Larsen, Erik Worden, Jourdan Metcalfe, Timmy Guyon, Dillian Elliot, Andrew Hollar, Dani Marchica, John Broadley, Chris Hodsden; and Indians, played by Zoe Schemm, Sophia Cardini, Nina King, Emily Perry, Antonia Dufort, Kylie Comstock, Hollie Jackson, Desi Broadley, Abby Broadley and Dani Marchica.

Based on J.M. Barrie's classic tale and featuring an unforgettable score by Morris “Moose” Charlap and Jule Styne with lyrics by Carolyn Leigh and Betty Comden and Adolph Green, Peter Pan is one of the most frequently performed family plays of all time.

This Tony Award-winning musical has been performed around the world for 60 years. Peter and his mischievous fairy sidekick Tinkerbell visit the nursery of the Darling children late one night and with a sprinkle of pixie dust begin a magical journey across the stars that none of them will ever forget.

In the adventure of a lifetime, the travelers come face to face with a ticking crocodile, a fierce Indian tribe, a band of bungling pirates, and, of course, the villainous Captain Hook. The show features the iconic songs “I'm Flying,” “I've Gotta Crow,” “I Won't Grow Up,” and “Never Never Land.”
