Forum offers financing options for local businesses

BRATTLEBORO — Members from the private and government sector are hosting a public forum about financing for local small business owners on Thursday, April 30, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., in Room 2E of the Marlboro College Grad Center at 28 Vernon St.

“If you are looking to start or grow a business, this is a rare opportunity for entrepreneurs to learn about a wide variety of financing options from subject matter experts,” said Vallerie Morse of the U.S. Small Business Administration in a news release. “Topics include government guarantees, refinancing, revolving lines of credit, microloans and more.”

The forum consists of the Small Business Administration, USDA Rural Development, Community Capital of Vermont, Vermont Community Loan Fund, Vermont Economic Development Authority, and Vermont Small Business Development Center.

Agency representatives will explain how they have assisted small businesses in the Brattleboro area and how their respective loan programs work.

Attendees can meet with representatives one-on-one following the meeting.

It is sponsored by the Brattleboro Development Corporation with assistance from the SBA. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is requested. To register, email [email protected] or call 802-257-7731.
