Nature Museum hosts fairy house celebration

GRAFTON — The Nature Museum at Grafton presents the seventh annual Fairy House Festival on Saturday, Sept. 26, and Sunday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Local individuals, families, schools, libraries, and businesses are collecting pine cones, acorn caps, feathers, moss, and more to create small fairy houses, which will be placed along a forest foot path. Visitors to the Fairy House Festival will be able to create their own fairy dwellings in the gardens.

Tour-goers may try face painting by Mona & Friends, interactive fairy activities and crafts, and light refreshments for purchase. Visitors are welcome to pack their own picnic.

The Fairy House Festival is The Nature Museum's primary fundraiser, benefitting the museum's environmental education programs presented in regional public schools and libraries throughout the year.

Discount tickets can be purchased in advance at The Nature Museum, by visiting www.nature-museum.org, or by calling 802- 843-2111, and tickets ($12 adults, $10 seniors, $5 children) will be available at the gate. Children 2 and younger attend for free.

Visitors are encouraged to dress up in costume. This annual tradition is designed to inspire people of all ages to take a closer look at nature.
