Warm Hands, Warm Hearts drive begins

DOVER — Again, it's time to appeal to our community and ask for your help in this year's Warm Hands, Warm Heart, Inc. clothing drive.

We have been experiencing some of Vermont's fabulous Fall weather - it's great for leaf-raking, fall motoring, and family visits.

But we all know that colder weather - much colder weather - is coming and that many in our local community will have a hard time this winter.

Our clothing box is located at the Brattleboro Masonic Lodge on Main Street in Brattleboro. The Masons there have been instrumental in their generosity in helping these many years. We are planning to immediately start our drive and continue through January to (fittingly) Valentine's Day in February.

We are asking you to look at your older, but serviceable, coats, jackets, scarves, and mittens. We are especially appealing for children's and youth's clothing.

Also this year, we want to help provide turkeys for our community. Would you consider donating $5 or $10? Just place a check or cash in an envelope (checks made out to Warm Hands), and we'll see that every penny go to help.

Warm Hands, Warm Hearts started in 2004, and we continue to work closely with the Drop-In Center folks, capably led by Lucie Fortier, to see that many in our community are warm this winter.

Won't you please help?
