Sandglass Theater improves access with new ramp

PUTNEY — Sandglass Theater recently added a new cement walkway to improve physical accessibility at the theater's events.

While the theater has had a legally accessible grade for years, the gravel walkway has been less than adequate, especially in bad weather. The new walkway will make access easier for all events at the Putney venue.

The walkway was funded by an anonymous local donor, and helps to bring an old Vermont building up to the standards of current use.

Sandglass Theater is excited to join Next Stage Arts Project, now equipped with an elevator and soon to reopen as a fully accessible venue, on Putney's “Theater Row,” updating older buildings to meet needs of Southern Vermont's population.
