Main Street Arts announces spring classes

SAXTONS RIVER — Main Street Arts is offering courses in art, music, acting, Spanish, writing, and plant life, with most classes beginning the first week of April.

Life Stories: Memories of Love, Action and Thought, led by Elayne Clift, will meet Saturdays, April 2, 9, and 16, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Greenough Nowakoski's 10-week Spanish in the Morning class begins Tuesday, April 5, from 10 to 11:15 a.m.

David Stern's Adult Acting class will meet for 10 weeks on Mondays starting April 4, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Stern will also lead Life Drawing on Wednesdays beginning April 6 from 7 to 9 p.m., for 10 weeks.

String Band with Jill Newton meets on Wednesdays from 5 to 6:15 p.m. for nine weeks starting April 6. Musicians of all levels are invited to join this group.

A new class, Barn Quilting, will hold one session Sunday, April 10, from 1 to 4 p.m. led by Linda Lacasse.

Also returning to MSA is Robert O'Brien, who will teach a watercolor workshop, Painting the Beauty of Spectacular Flowers, on Sunday, May 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m..

Workshops suitable for all ages are Creative Terrariums, with Catherine Cadieux and John Medeiros, on Saturday, April 16, from 10 a.m. to noon and Bonsai, with Stern, on Saturday, April 30, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Classes for youth include a Main Street Arts Children's Chorus led by Valerie Kosednar and Mary Hepburn on Thursdays from 3:45 to 5 p.m. for six weeks beginning April 7 and Discovery Arts for Pre-schoolers with Collin Leech, Saturdays from 10 to 11:15 a.m. for four weeks starting May 7.

MSA also continues its Creative Arts After-School Program (CAAP) from 3 to 5 p.m. with Exploratory Arts on Mondays and Studio Arts on Wednesdays.

Ongoing MSA activities are the Photography Club at FACT in Bellows Falls the fourth Tuesday of each month from 7 to 9 p.m., Strength Training Tuesdays and Fridays from 9 to 10 a.m., and German and Spanish Potlucks the third and fourth Sunday of each month, respectively, at 6 p.m.
