An evening of poetry at Putney Public Library

PUTNEY — The Putney Public Library will host three local poets for a free reading in celebration of National Poetry Month on Wednesday, April 6, at 7 p.m.

Toni Ortner, Lee Bramble, and Becky Dennison Sakellariou will all read from their recent works. Books by the poets will be available for sale.

Ortner is a Putney resident who is vice president of Write Action, a nonprofit group that supports and celebrates the efforts of New England writers. Her most recent books are: “Currents We Never Dream Of,” “Writing with Our Blood,” and “Don't Sit Shiva for Me” (Moon Publishing), “Jeopardy” (Finishing Line Press), and “Traveling A Perspective” (Kelsey Publishing).

Lee Bramble is the pen name of Tom Ragle. Ragle will read poems from his collection “Take This Song,” published in 2013, as well as some more-recent poems. He is a former vice president of Write Action, where he was for many years in charge of the summer poetry and prose writing contests and where he was also one of the founders of “The Sunday Write Action Radio Hour” on WVEW-FM 107.7 in Brattleboro.

Dennison Sakellariou was born and raised in New England and lives part of the time in Peterborough, N.H., and the rest of the time in Euboia, Greece. She has published four books: “The Importance of Bone” (Blue Light Press), “Earth Listening” (Hobblebush Books), “Shall I Cry” (Finishing Line Press), and a bilingual selection in Greek and English by Hobblebush Books.

The Putney Public Library is located at 55 Main St. in Putney.
