Main Street Arts Coffeehaus concert presents folk quartet 2x2

SAXTONS RIVER — The Main Street Arts Coffeehaus Concert Series will present the folk quartet 2x2 on Saturday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m.

2x2 pairs Valerie Kosednar and Mark Grieco with Betsy and Lee Rybeck Lynd in a concert of a cappella and accompanied music distinguished by a broad range of styles, including traditional and contemporary folk songs from around the world.

Formed two years ago, the group has been well received as a folk quartet in concerts around the region. The concert at Main Street Arts will include songs arranged for four voices, several of which are arranged by local composers.

A well-known area music teacher and singer, Kosednar has conducted children's choirs in the Midwest, New York City, and locally. Grieco has played in various rock 'n' roll bands in the area, and he and Valerie sing in the hospice choir Hallowell. Betsy Rybeck Lynd was a school chorus director for many years. She and Lee led pub sings for Muskeg Music years ago, have occasionally performed as a duo, and have been active in musical theater.

The members of 2x2 have also sung together in the 20-person ensemble House Blend.
