Murder Mystery Dinner presented at BFUHS

BELLOWS FALLS — The Bellows Falls Union High School Drama Department is pleased to present “The Wedding Catastrophe” by Eileen Moushey for the school's annual Murder Mystery Dinner Theater.

The fun-filled evening with live actors and audience participation will take place on Friday, April 29, in the Bellows Falls Union High School cafeteria and includes dinner and dessert, as well as an elaborate clue hunt. This is a fundraiser for the BFUHS 2016 New York City Field Trip, sponsored by Sonnax.

A news release describing the event says: “You've been to weddings where something goes wrong? Try everything.” In the course of the play, according to the release, Bruce and Tina face it all. The groom's snobbish, aristocratic mother, Sylvia, registers her disapproval of the nuptials by wearing black and attempting to dissuade him from the marriage even as the Bridal March begins.

The farce heightens when the judge hired to perform the ceremony is drunk and the wrong tuxedo is delivered to the bride's father, Jackie, who attempts to ease the tension by trying out some of the gags from his novelty store (including a whoopee cushion for Sylvia).

The mishaps continue, and then a stranger shows up in time to die.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Bellows Falls Union High School for $16, or for $20 at the door.
