Eileen Fisher donates to scholarship fund for Green Mountain Camp

DUMMERSTON — Green Mountain Camp for Girls (GMC) recently received a donation from the Eileen Fisher Company Store in Manchester, Vt. The contribution of $3,202 will support GMC's scholarship fund, which ensures girls who wouldn't otherwise be able to go to camp the chance to enjoy one week of fun.

In 2015, GMC gave $17,000 in scholarships to 71 deserving girls and didn't turn away a single camper.

Green Mountain Camp for Girls was founded in 1917 by Sarah Bradley and her friend Grace Holbrook, who were both 19 years old at the time. The young founders understood that girls needed a place to come together away from the isolation and chores of the farm. The camp was a place for girls to socialize, learn, and have adventures together.

While society has changed greatly since 1917, GMC is still a place for girls to be girls and have an authentic summer-camp experience in the beautiful woods of Dummerston. GMC is accepting registrations and financial aid applications now for the coming season.
