GRAFTON — In light of the very serious allegations of fraud and financial impropriety currently being investigated in the Northeast Kingdom - an investigation that has politicians on both sides of the aisle running for cover - I would like to ask gubernatorial candidates Scott, Lisman, Minter, Dunne, and Galbraith to answer the following question:
“Iberdrola Renewables was recently convicted by a federal regulatory judge of defrauding the state of California and its ratepayers of millions of dollars by essentially running an energy-credit Ponzi scheme.
“In light of that fact, how could any future governor or member of Vermont's Public Service Board possibly support the approval of any future projects involving Iberdrola Renewables?”
I hope Vermont's many fine investigative reporters as well as the voters throughout the state will demand a direct response to this question.
