Women's Leadership Circle to begin in Windham County
BRATTLEBORO — BRATTLEBORO - The Windham County Women's Leadership Circle starts Sept. 15, and the deadline for applications is June 30.
The Women's Leadership Circles of Vermont were developed to support accomplished women in leadership positions in the corporate, nonprofit, government, and small-business sectors.
Each circle is comprised of 10 to 12 women who meet formally over six months to establish the foundation for an ongoing network of support.
“Participants support one another to meet the challenges of leadership with clarity and confidence,” says Program Director Kerry Secrest.
The cost is $2,600 for the six-month program of the Marlboro College Center for New Leadership.

Masiello Group adds new agents
BRATTLEBORO - Two real estate agents, Jamie Watson and Sally Fegley, have joined Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate/The Masiello Group's team in town.
Watson is a licensed Realtor in both Vermont and New Hampshire, and previously was affiliated with Keller Williams in Keene. She is very familiar with the Connecticut River Valley region.

BMH earns 'A' grade for patient safety
BRATTLEBORO - Brattleboro Memorial Hospital was one of 798 hospitals to receive a top ranking in a new nationwide survey, placing it among the safest hospitals in the United States.
New Hospital Safety Scores, which the hospital describes as “provid[ing] the most complete picture of patient safety in the U.S. health-care system,” were announced last week by the Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog.
The Hospital Safety Score rating system uses 30 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign A, B, C, D, or F grades to more than 2,500 U.S. hospitals twice per year. It is calculated by top patient safety experts, peer-reviewed, fully transparent, and free to the public.
For the first time, the Hospital Safety Score includes five measures of patient-reported experience with the hospital as well as two of the most common infections, Clostridium difficile (C.diff) and Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
