Studio 33 Disco Dance Party will benefit WOOL Radio

BELLOWS FALLS — The disco ball will spin Saturday, Sept. 17, when Studio 33, WOOL-FM's first annual Disco Dance Party, complete with light show and Soul Train streaming video, brings a 1970s flashback to the wooden dance floor of the Moose Lodge at 59 Westminster St.

DJ Skar of Chicago will mix the beats of disco, funk, soul, and hip hop classics.

At 8 years old, according to a news release, DJ Skar began spinning records in his parent's basement in Maywood, Illinois. Skar took his skills on the road while in the Air Force, spinning in clubs in Germany, Italy, and Israel.

Upon returning to Chicago, he developed a following and has spun records at the Funky Buddha Lounge, Butterfly Social Club, Simone's Bar, Maria's Community Bar, Harbee's Liquors & Tavern, Morgan's Bar, Blitz Bar, Lava Lounge, and The Horseman, among others.

In 2014, DJ Skar moved with his family to Vermont. His weekly radio show, Live & Direct with DJ Skar on WOOL-FM Black Sheep Radio, has become a favorite in New England.

All proceeds support WOOL-FM, 91.5 Black Sheep Community Radio, located at 33 Bridge St. There will be a cash bar, raffles, and food available for purchase from the Moose Lodge and Jamaican Jewelz Catering.
