Four candidates to appear at Chamber/VBSR event

Minter, Scott, Bucknam, and Donovan in Brattleboro on Monday, Oct. 24

BRATTLEBORO — The Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce and the Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility invite the public, including members of both organizations, to a candidate showcase and networking event at the American Legion on Monday, Oct. 24 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Chamber Executive Director Kate O'Connor confirmed in a press release on Tuesday that participants will include both major-party candidates for Vermont governor, Democratic nominee Sue Minter and Republican nominee Phil Scott.

Minter served in the Shumlin administration as the state's transportation secretary, and Scott has been lieutenant governor for three terms.

Also attending are two candidates for attorney general: Republican Deborah Bucknam, an attorney based in St. Johnsbury, and Democrat TJ Donovan, the state's attorney for Chittenden County.

During the event, all four candidates are expected to say a few words about their vision for their time in office and southern Vermont and answer some questions, O'Connor noted.

The evening will conclude with a networking event featuring a cash bar and hors d'oeuvres.

The event is free for members of either organization, $10 for non-members.
