Annual Lego-sculpture contest, exhibit set at BMAC

BRATTLEBORO — The Brattleboro Museum & Art Center will showcase creators of all ages who have designed and built original Lego sculptures at the Museum's ninth annual Lego Contest & Exhibit, which takes place Nov. 18-20.

Prizes include gift certificates to Toy City in Keene, N.H.

“This has become such a fun community event,” Museum director Danny Lichtenfeld said in a news release. “Every year, we receive entries from multiple states and contestants ranging in age from toddlers to senior citizens."

Every entry that is submitted will be displayed at the Museum. A panel of judges will award prizes based on creativity and craftsmanship in six age groups.

There will also be overall prizes for Best in Show, Best Architectural Design, Best Use of Moving Parts, Best Title, Best Diorama, and Best Space-Themed Creation. Every contestant will receive a personalized certificate of participation and four complimentary passes to the Museum.

The opening reception and awards ceremony will take place Friday, Nov. 18, at 5 p.m. All entries will remain on display at the Museum through Sunday, Nov. 20. More information is available at www.brattleboromuseum.org, or by calling 802-257-0124, ext. 101.
