Empty Bowls dinner raises $28,000 for food shelf

BRATTLEBORO — Thanks to all of the local businesses, sponsors, and volunteers that made this year's Empty Bowls Dinner such a success. More than 400 people attended the dinner on the night of Oct. 8 at Landmark College to raise funds for Groundworks' Food Shelf.

Through the support of our sponsors, potters, local restaurants, diners, and those who purchased bowls, we raised over $28,000, the largest fundraiser this year for Groundworks Collaborative. This event is an amazing community effort, made possible by the support of more than 500 people!

We thank this year's generous sponsors and our many volunteers.

Special thanks go out to Christie Herbert and Elizabeth McLoughlin, who have co-chaired this event for many years and have securely handed over the reins to ensure the sustainability of the Empty Bowls Dinner for years to come.

Likewise, our sincere thanks to Alan “Micky” Moos for over 13 years of service to the Empty Bowls Steering Committee.
