Local Selectboards hold reorganization meetings

After Town Meeting Day elections, several area Selectboards met to reorganize their boards and set meeting times for the coming year:

Brattleboro

• The Selectboard held a special meeting on March 27 to welcome new members and choose officers. Town Clerk Hilary Francis administered the oath of office to incoming Selectboard members Brandie Starr and Tim Wessel, and to returning Board member David Schoales.

Board member John Allen nominated Kate O'Connor as chair. Voting was unanimously in favor. Wessel nominated Starr as vice-chair. The Board unanimously elected her to the position. Schoales nominated Wessel as clerk. The 5-0 vote was in favor of the nomination.

The Brattleboro Selectboard meets at 6:15 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month in the Selectboard Meeting Room in the Municipal Center at 230 Main St., second Floor Suite 212. The meetings are broadcast live on Brattleboro Community Television and are archived at www.brattleborotv.org.

Dummerston

• The Selectboard held their annual organizational meeting March 15. They voted to keep the same slate of officers: Zeke Goodband as chair, Steve Glabach as vice-chair, and Joe Cook as clerk.

The Board designated The Commons as their Newspaper of Record, and Board member Hugh Worden noted they still may choose to print notices in the Brattleboro Reformer when needed.

Regular Selectboard meetings occur every other Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Meetings are generally held at the Town Offices in Dummerston Center but, a few times a year, are also held at the Dummerston Community Center on West Street. Check the town's website at www.dummerston.org or call 802-257-1496 to confirm.

Guilford

• During the March 13 regular Selectboard meeting, the Board re-appointed Sheila Morse as chair and appointed Gabrielle Ciufredda as co-chair. They didn't select a Newspaper of Record.

Selectboard meetings occur on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Town Office building at 236 School Rd.

Newfane

• At the organizational meeting March 8, the Selectboard unanimously elected Carol Hatcher as chair, Gary Delius as vice-chair, and Selectboard Assistant Shannon Meckle as clerk.

The Board chose the Brattleboro Reformer as its Newspaper of Record. They set the official posting places for notices and minutes: the town clerk's office, Newfane Market, WW Building Supply, and the Williamsville/South Newfane Post Office.

Selectboard meetings occur on the first and third Mondays of each month at 6 p.m. at the Town Office building at 555 Route 30.

Putney

• During the “Organizational Meeting” portion of the March 15 regular Selectboard meeting, the Board unanimously elected Scott Henry as chair, Steve Hed as vice-chair, and Josh Laughlin as clerk.
