Lawyers team up with Boys & Girls Club to support bicycle safety

BRATTLEBORO — It's biking weather again, and more kids are biking on the streets and around local neighborhoods.

Because using bike lights is an important way to help keep kids safe, on May 12 and 13, lawyers from the Vermont Association for Justice will give away bicycle headlights and taillights to hundreds of Vermont kids.

The Vermont Association for Justice is a nonprofit association of Vermont trial lawyers, dedicated to promoting public safety and protecting the legal rights of Vermonters. Members of the association will give away and install bike lights at local youth centers in Addison, Chittenden, Washington, and Windham counties, according to a news release.

In the Brattleboro area, the bicycle light giveaway and installation will be held Saturday, May 13, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Boys & Girls Club of Brattleboro, 17 Flat St. This event is free and open to the public.

Safe Kids Windham County also will be at the club, offering new bike helmets for just $5.
