New BMC summer camp for kids focuses on music and imagination

BRATTLEBORO — Giants, fairy tales, and an octopus' garden will be among the themes explored during an imaginative weeklong summer music program for children.

Camp Allegretto, presented July 10-14 by the Brattleboro Music Center for kids ages 5 to 8, will include singing, storytelling, dancing and movement, and a related art project, instructor Kim Wallach says in a news release.

“Daily themes will unite a story, some through the songs and games, and in some way, the art project,” says Wallach, who is K-12 certified in Massachusetts, and currently teaches in Northfield Elementary and Warwick Community School. “I envision putting each day's art on the walls, as well as each day's morning message, so that we decorate our room and can look back over the week.”

The BMC offers this and many other summer programs for children and adults. For more information and to register, visit www.bmcvt.org or call 802-257-4523.
