Tulip Trot benefits Green Street School

BRATTLEBORO — The Green Street School community is gearing up for our fifth annual 5K Tulip Trot on Saturday, May 13. This exciting event is a great opportunity for our students and the greater Brattleboro community to come together and participate in a 5K fun run/walk to benefit our students.

The event, along with a half-mile Sprout Run for younger children, starts and ends at Green Street School. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the Sprout Run scheduled for 9 a.m. and the Tulip Trot to begin at 10 a.m.

The Tulip Trot route is 3.1 miles of road and wooded trails that winds through neighborhood streets before entering the scenic Retreat trails at the base of Brattleboro's famous Harris Hill Ski Jump. At the conclusion of the race there will be music, refreshments, raffle prizes, and good times for all.

Last year's event was a huge success, as we had more than 300 runners and walkers participate, raising funds to support our winter sports program, various field trips, playground upgrades, enrichment programs, and special events for our students with little to no additional cost to our families.

What makes this community-building event so fun is the people! I welcome residents to register and to invite family and friends to join us as well.
