BRATTLEBORO — The United Way of Windham County plans to invest $122,500 in high-impact human service programs in the areas of health, opportunity, prosperity, and education during fiscal year 2018, which began on July 1.
Community impact grants were awarded to 14 programs at 10 organizations serving Windham County. A full list of supported programs can be seen at www.unitedwaywindham.org/funded-hope-programs.
“We are proud to support organizations and programs that are addressing issues important to Windham County, such as providing nutritious food, creating healthier homes, supporting our homeless neighbors, bringing books to isolated areas, caring for children after school, and developing leadership skills among children and adults,” said Director of Community Investments Sue Graff in a news release.
These community grants, along with other United Way resources, such as volunteer engagement, issue analysis, data collection/tracking, and convening power, are contributing to Windham County adults, children and youth achieving their potential, being financially stable and independent, and experiencing improved health and well-being.
