Main Street Arts seeks art-show entries

SAXTONS RIVER — Local artists are invited to submit pieces for a community art show being hosted by Main Street Arts.

The show will run from Monday, Oct. 23, through Sunday, Nov. 19, with an artists' reception Thursday, Oct. 26, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Artists - professional and amateur - may drop off their work Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 16 or 17, from 9 a.m. to noon or 4 to 6 p.m. Other arrangements can be made if necessary.

Artists of all ages and levels of experience are encouraged to submit up to two pieces of work for this non-juried show in any medium, including paint, photography, collage, fiber art, pottery, or mixed media.

Art can be for sale, with a commission applied to sales, according to a news release.

Artists within a 30-mile radius of Saxtons River may submit work. Further guidelines for submissions can be found on the MSA web page at www.mainstreetarts.org.

“This is a great opportunity to showcase the arts in our community and to give others a glimpse into the hidden artistic talents of some of our neighbors,” Margo Ghia, MSA director, said in the news release.

“It fits nicely with our mission to be a catalyst for arts and community by fostering creative expression through artistic experience accessible to all,” she added. “It's something we've been dedicated to for the 29 years of our existence.”
