Gala dance party benefits Next Stage

PUTNEY — Next Stage Arts Project will host its first annual gala benefit event, a disco dance party to benefit Next Stage programming, on Friday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m.

In a news release, organizers invited the community to “dust off your bell bottoms and reconnect with your inner 70s, or come experience that era you missed out on.” DJ Sound and Light will be provided by Latchis Hotel and Theater, sponsored by Richards Insurance and GPI Construction. There will be food, a live and silent auction of local and exotic treasures, and a wine and beer cash bar.

Live auction items include a South African Photo Safari, a professional studio recording session with Emmy Award-winning engineer/producer Billy Straus, a ski getaway weekend, a ukelele set and private lesson with Lisa McCormick, a pizza-making party for eight with Greg & Robyn Weisel, and a catered dinner for eight by Tim Allen.

Next Stage Arts Project, winner of a National Endowment for the Arts and ArtPlace America grants, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to revitalizing Putney's cultural and economic village center through the programming, development and operation of Next Stage. The newly renovated performance space at 15 Kimball Hill is now accessible, comfortable, and air-conditioned, with a great dance floor.
