William Dixon exhibits portraits of artists and their work at Putney Library

PUTNEY — Windham County is a community with a wealth of artists and makers of fine crafts. Local photographer William Dixon has made it his creative goal to document the studios and products of some of these creators.

A series of his portraits are on display at the Putney Public Library, 55 Main St. Dixon's work captures the essence of the daily lives of those who are dedicated to the process of creating something unique for our enrichment, according to a news release.

And Dixon himself offers unique visions, opening windows into these artistic working environments. Photographs of Doug Cox, Joseph Fichter, Dena Gartenstein Moses, Ken Pick, Stephen Proctor, Paul Stone, Nancy Storrow, Eugene Uman, and Walter Slowinski are part of this exhibit.

Dixon's photographs will be on view for the months of April and May in the Library's gallery space and can be viewed during regular library hours: Monday through Friday 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
