BMH, CCV host open houses for accelerated Medical Assistant program

BRATTLEBORO — Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) and Community College of Vermont (CCV) are now accepting applications for their accelerated program to prepare qualified candidates for jobs as Certified Medical Assistants.

Enrollment in the one semester program will be limited to 20 participants. Classes will be held on the CCV Brattleboro campus, and all clinical aspects of the course work will be completed at BMH.

As part of the joint initiative, BMH is providing full scholarships for eight successful applicants to the program. Scholarship recipients will have their CCV tuition covered and will be hired as Medical Assistants at BMH upon successful completion of the academic program and licensure exam.

An informational presentation about the program will be held at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital in the Brew Barry Conference Center on Monday, June 11, from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Attendees will learn about program details, the application process, and the eight scholarship opportunities available. Staff from BMH and CCV, as well as current BMH Medical Assistants, will be on hand to answer questions and provide technical assistance with the application process.
