Friends of Brooks Memorial Library to hold holiday sale

BRATTLEBORO — The Friends of the Brooks Memorial Library will hold its 13th annual “like new” Holiday Book, CD, and DVD Sale on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 29 and 30, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Remainders will be on sale until Dec. 17.

Most books in this sale are $3, with some special and coffee table books priced higher. This is a great opportunity for early holiday shopping at affordable prices. This year, they will also have a table with some unique items, priced somewhat higher and appealing to the more eclectic shopper.

These items will be selected from among the books currently listed for sale on the Friends' Amazon web page. These tend to be some of the more unique donations received from patrons, with quite a few gems of various genres and appealing to many age groups.

Along with the book sale, the group will hold a raffle for gift baskets donated by patrons and friends and usually built around a book, with items connected to the theme of the book.

The drawing for these will be held Dec. 17. Tickets can be purchased at the book sale, and then at the main desk of the library until Dec. 16.

The success of the sale depends on generous donations of books, CDs and DVDs by library supporters. Donations may be brought to the main circulation desk whenever the library is open. To see the donation guidelines, visit friendsofbrookslibraryvt.org/Donate.

Anyone with questions, or a large quantity of books to donate, should call Therese at 802-254-5290. The proceeds from these sales support the Library's events and programs such as First Wednesdays lectures, Children's Room events, digital media and equipment needs and services.
